Kim Go-eun as Hong Seol – A simple and hardworking student who is intrigued by her college senior Yoo Jung and harbors a secret crush on him. She works hard to unravel his feelings and intentions towards her.
Park Hae-jin as Yoo Jung - Seol's senior. A mysterious, enigmatic man with a dark side to his personality. He distrusts everyone and feels they use him for his money. He is intelligent and helps Seol and goes on to develop feelings for Seol.
Seo Kang-joon as Baek In-ho – He and Jung are childhood friends but grow to be rivals. He is close friends with Seol and is attracted to her. Talented pianist who whose dreams are shattered due to an incident for which he holds Jung responsible.
Lee Sung-kyung as Baek In-ha - In-ho's selfish and melodramatic older sister. She has a one-sided love for Jung, whose father had adopted her and In-ho when they were young.
